Joaquima Laguna created a new concept inside her local Ocaña, a sophisticated restaurant in which clients can enjoy “an old school attendance” and a specially created for the occasion music band, Banda Ocaña Gipsy Klezmer Lab. The project was the welcoming entrance into Ocaña for chef Manel Jiménez, who created a menu based on local Catalan products mixed with French, Lebanese, and other Mediterranean cuisines.

I was commissioned by Joaquima Laguna to create a theme for the night and produce the opening night. My suggestion was a Red Night on the Red Carpet with a rigorously red dress code for the invited guests. As well, we built a simple installation with red velvet fabrics. My initial intention was to use the mentioned fabrics as tablecloths, but when placed on the tables outside, the effect was ordinary, so we decided to hang the pieces from the porch ceiling.

The costumes for the musicians were specially created by Manuel Ortiz, who is one of the iconic hosts of the place.
