VALIE EXPORT is a pioneer in film, video and installation art, she has produced one of the most significant bodies of feminist art in the post-war period. Her groundbreaking films and performances in the 1960s and 1970s introduced a new form of radical, embodied feminism to Europe, examining the politics of the body in relation to its environment, culture and society.
Karolina Dankow has been co-founder and director of Karma International since 2009. The gallery started its initial program with artists from their own generation, such as Pamela Rosenkranz, Ida Ekblad and David Hominal, among others, who have been crucial in defining the identity of the gallery. Over the past decade, the program has since expanded upon different generations, such as Meret Oppenheim, Ser Serpas, Vivian Suter, Simone Fattal, Sylvie Fleury, Małgorzata Mirga-Tas, Judith Bernstein, Jasmine Gregory, as well as VALIE EXPORT.
